"Horseshoe Jack" is coming
The trail winds higher, folks. "Horseshoe Jack" arrives December 2, 2007, at Scaldcrow.com.
The porch light's glowing, and the mountain is waiting.
This original tale comes from Appalachian storyteller T. Glenn Bane, inspired by the stories Uncle Mud used to spin on the front porch of my MeMa's little mountain house, set high on Bell Spur Mountain in Carroll County, Virginia, it's a story of mountain mystery, old memories, and the kind of tale that lingers long after the last word is spoken.
Before you press play:
- Find a quiet place
- Let the mountain settle around you
- Listen as the old storytellers did
Then come back and tell me what stayed with you. Share it with a friend who appreciates a good mountain yarn, and help keep the tradition alive.
